Why support the Coalition

Organizations have a role to play in the support young people receive

Young people’s well-being is shaped by their environments. Businesses can strengthen these by mobilizing resources and action.

Supporting the Coalition turns concern into practical support for children and caregivers.

FAQs

Questions about members

Current Coalition members include lululemon, the Movember Foundation, Pinterest, Rituals, Sony, Spotify, Zurich Insurance Group and Z Zurich Foundation. We are working to expand this member base, bringing additional private sector members globally, and across industries.

The Coalition offers a two-tier membership structure. Strategic Members commit USD 500,000 or more per year over three years, including support for Coalition operations and significant contributions to UNICEF’s Mental Health Thematic Fund.

Supporting Members commit USD 250,000 or more per year over three years, and support the shared mission through flexible funding to the Mental Health Thematic Fund.

The Coalition is one-of-a kind opportunity to join leading private sector organizations to drive global change on child and youth mental health in a concerted way. All supported via UNICEF’s 75 years of experience and presence in over 190 countries and territories – with coalition activities led and delivered by a dedicated UNICEF team.

Members join the Coalition on top of their bilateral partnership with UNICEF, bringing their partnership’s programmatic impact to the global stage. Partnership benefits include:
· Opportunity to share knowledge and experience and drive business practice and influence on mental health including in the workplace.
· Opportunity to create and activate a number of mental health advocacy and communications
moments with other Coalition members. Such activities offer strong visibility opportunities which can position corporate members as a leader;
· Opportunity to join and speak at high level events which are convened by the Coalition.
· Access to international expertise, programmatic presence at scale, and working with UNICEF as leaders and pioneers in the field working across child, youth, and caregiver mental health.

Do all members of the Coalition fund the same mental health programme?
No, our members fund a variety of UNICEF programmes. For example, Rituals and Sony support UNICEF’s mental health thematic fund and Spotify supports youth mental health and wellbeing, including refugees and migrants, by developing a destination on their platform together with UNICEF.

We request that a budget line is included in the partnership budget for the advocacy and communications activities to fight stigma and raise awareness with business and other key stakeholders via the Coalition activities. The cost allocation should be a minimum of 50,000 USD.

This funding is allocated to, for example, the cost of delivering high level events and convenings, developing training packages for business on mental health, developing online campaigns targeting business.

OED legal have prepared Coalition terms which each new members must sign up to when joining the Coalition. The Coalition terms are a tripartite agreement.

For existing UNICEF partners:
· The Coalition terms can be added as an addendum to the existing Partnership Agreement
· The Coalition terms can be a stand-alone agreement which is separate to the Partnership Agreement

For new UNICEF partners:
· The Coalition terms are incorporated into any new Partnership Agreements
