FAQs

Questions about supporting the Coalition

The Coalition is an alliance of UNICEF partners who are committed to addressing the increasing global burden of mental health in youth by calling for investment and action on mental health.

Mental health is a global priority for UNICEF, embedded across our Strategic Plan 2025-2029, supporting work towards SDG Target 3.4 which aims to “promote mental health and wellbeing”. Despite a growing burden of mental health issues on children, adolescents, and caregivers worldwide, there is a severe global shortage of funding and action on mental health promotion and prevention.
The Coalition is responding to the urgent need for collective action on child and youth mental health bringing like-minded actors together, leveraging their unique strengths to help transform and save lives of millions of children and young people.

In April 2022, the Coalition was founded with the support of the Z Zurich Foundation. The Coalition has evolved to include eight private sector members.

1. Challenge stigma, raise awareness and change the global conversation on the need to protect and support child, youth, and caregiver mental health
2. Call for governments to invest and act on child and youth mental health
3. Increase private and public investment in child and youth mental health
4. Drive business practice and influence to support child, youth and caregiver mental health including in the workplace
